My first 'macro' flower image created with close up filters:
What I learned today in my first attempt to use close up filters:
- Wind is not your friend when shooting macro,
- Focusing needs to be very precise,
- It's hard to position the camera correctly to get the focus point that you would like (even, or especially, with a tripod),
- I need to spend more time with a subject and really 'want' the shot in order for it to be successful,
- I now 'get' what focus stacking is all about although I don't think that I am up for trying it quite yet after today's frustrations...
While I am pretty pleased with this shot, I know that there is a ton to learn in this area of photography (based on the fact that this image was the only redeemable one of the day), I am interested to get some C&C on this shot and learn how can I improve it and/or my approach for the future.
Hit me with the harsh truth...
