The expressions of the two ladies under the bouquet make this picture. I wish that the lady entering the image from frame right was not in the image but, that is something you just have to live with.

I am wondering if a slight vignette might center the viewer's attention on the bouquet and the ladies under it. NIK Color Effex Pro 4 has a "Lighten Center" filter which ends up as a very slight vignette effect.

The bouquet toss is a fun part of a wedding reception. However, it is, IMO, one of the most difficult activities to photograph. I originally shot the toss while standing on a chair to get a higher angle. However, after being knocked off the chair by a scramble of young ladies, I brought a small stepladder to subsequent weddings. The little three step ladder was very sturdy and I often found uses for it other than the bouquet toss shot! Aa an example, it is often better to shoot a group from a slightly elevated position...

I agree with Richard's remarks, Harmon. The two women on the left are the main interest in this shot, and I would have liked to see the rest of them blurred. At the moment, with everyone in focus it looks to me like a snapshot ie a record of the event, rather than an interpretation of the event.

And my eye keeps being drawn to the right arm of the woman 2nd from the bottom right of the frame... Lens compression makes it look like her arm is an intimate part of the woman behind her ...

Harmon I think you also got it.

Not to disagree with Richard but I think the white of the flowers draw the attention to the main subject.

Minor tweaks and twists and it is a good shot. Always watch verticals in the background – I like to see them as vertical.

Tough gig, Harmon. With shots like this no-one is concerned about verticals and drawing eye and a bit of blur. They want the shot; happy, spontaneous, personal. This is snapshot time and you have snapped well. This one will give some joy to quite a few people.
