Nice dog, nice capture, George. The lighting shows off her coat very well, and that pose... that expression... the sand on the face... Reminds me of my very first girlfriend's dog. She would occasionally bring it to the beach, and it would follow me into the surf. I think it wanted to rescue me... (I also think it liked me a whole lot more than she did, but that's another story).

One criticism is that the eyes look a bit dull. Maybe you could add/enhance the catchlights in pp.

Love the shot.

If mine; two ideas; I'd clone out the dark, diagonal twig behind and beside her ear, and I'd crop a little off the right side, say < 5%, to bring the eyes across just a bit.

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to this. The remodel has really been intense.
So, I cropped her back a bit, cloned out the stick, and worked on the eyes.
By the way, this is her back yard. Our children are grown and on their own now, so I dismantled the above-ground pool. She loves to dig in the sand that underlaid the pool.
