Boy in a tube
Taken with flash to reduce subject movement, sharpened, lightened shadows, no adjustment to colour. Is the photo ratio or square crop better.

Re: Boy in a tube
Personally I would crop so the baby is centred on the top-left intersect on the rule-of-thirds grid. This provides a natural focus point and extends the bottom-right to give the impression the baby is going or has somewhere to go.

I think I prefer the square crop, but I wonder if you could reposition it to include more of the red spiral - so it still looks like a spiral?

How about a 7x5 crop?

I think I prefer the 2nd one because it is clearly about the child.
