The change is very slight; I kissed the image with Multiply in layers, a little gray in the window, a little more multiply on the girl and the window, and sharpened the boy. C&C and re-edits welcome!

Very subtle differences. I'd suppose that I would need to put these into photoshop on different layers so I could A/B them to see the difference.

    Hi Ben,

While I can certainly see the differences, I wouldn't have done it that way - mainly because I'm Layer-phobic and even more blendphobic So that comment says more about me than the 'After' image and isn't much help

What can I say; 'After' has definitely improved upon 'Before' no doubt, and it is a pleasing study of 'the kids' having fun in a crowded home. Unfortunately, it's not a composition that's great, mainly because of the domestic clutter - but hold fire, my place is worse, which is why you'll not be seeing any pics of it here

Your offer for people having a PP go on the original may turn up some interesting results

    Cheers,

Thank for the comments! I will probably try some new edits myself, as I am curious about what the results would be without the benefit of layers and blending!
There are issues in this photo that are problematic; this was one of my earlier photos and I took the B&W option while shooting it, something I would never do now, as the latitude one has editing colors piecemeal, before desaturation, is much greater. My biggest issue is the blown out highlights AND the clutter, I was curious to see what comments or solutions might be proffered! By the way, this is a staged shot! the furniture and furnishings were brought on site per the requirements of the shoot.

A lot more definition and contrast! I especially like the pronounced features in the girls face!

    Hi,
First I transform it in a Raw image. Then I bettered the outdoor from the background and the general aspect including hue to be in the "same old time"as the furniture. With "Skew transform" I put the curtain in a right angle and moved the boy from the middle. In the end with "Crop tool" I decreased the size of foreground's armchair.(20 min because I tried first to do a false HDR)
