Nice picture. No snow here yet at the mouth of the Hudson.

Hi Jack: Looks like you got the same storm pattern that we are getting now here in Southern Ontario. First snowfall indeed. We had blowing snow yesterday and right now we are having a blizzard with a -20 wind chill factor. A couple weeks ago, people were walking around in short sleeves.

I really like the shot. Only problem for me is the trees in the foreground on the bottom left cutting off the view of the farm. That area looks kind of distracting to me.

    Hi Jack,

A very subdued image, quite low key and low chroma, but it suits the subject and conveys the seasonal feeling well.

While I agree the foreground trees do obscure the farm a little more than would be ideal, they do give a nice sense of depth to the image. I also like the overall composition and framing.

    Nice one,

I wish I could have peaked past the tree tops.
Maybe I can sell the land owner's wife on the idea of getting hubby a chainsaw for the holidays...

Yeah, Sorry about that, picking on the trees was really silly (stupid)of me. I really like the photo, I'd be quite pleased to take something as nice.

You must have been very cold out there when you were taking it. Seeing as we are shooting in simalar winter conditions, I'm wondering if you have anything special to carry the camera in when you are out wandering around in the snow? Have you had any problems with the camera siezing up or slowing down or anything like that due to the cold weather.

This will be my first winter with a digital SLR and I'm not sure if I have to baby it or not. The old film camera seemed to put up with a lot of abuse, I'm not sure about all the electronics in the digital though.

I haven't been in the cold with my dslr but I think you should look after it Wendy; keep it dry most of all. I want to see more of your pictures and don't want to be deprived of them because your sensor circuits got wet. <smiley>

LOL I'll make sure to try and keep my sensor circuits dry. I have many more farms to photograph.

Yep, never take the lens off and use the body as a cup holder

In all seriousness, I haven't issues with cold weather, but is some condensation dangerous to my camera?
    Thanks for the positive feedback...

    Hi Jack,

Condensation on the inside of lenses sets you up for fungus (ie "lens rot"), which is not a good thing
