C&C welcome
With some PP; better or worse?
Or should I just bin?

Re: Power Walk
John, interesting title but I see how it fits. Both nice images but I actually prefer the first because of the brighter blues and greens. A power walk. Yes, I like it.

Re: Power Walk
I prefer the second image, John. I like the processing and I think it places more emphasis on the power poles than the first. I find the green of the vegetation takes my attention away from them.

Re: Power Walk
Hi John.
I prefer the top image because the colors are more appealing to me. I like that you captured the curved dirt road that runs between the two sets of power lines. It provides a nice lead into the image.
You might try a bit of a curves adjustment to enhance the contrast to see if you like the image any better.

Re: Power Walk
The second one has an old picture feel to it that is nice. But the vignette is encroaching on the left poles and pushes my attention away.
I like the first one but wonder if you took a little off the right side (and the top to keep the size ratio) and put the road coming right out of the corner if it might work a little better.

Re: Power Walk
The first image is really a snapshot, while the second makes more of an edgy statement, because your PP choices. I'd be tempted to try a B&W conversion to see if that simplifies the shot a bit more and takes things down to the bare essentials. Take it easy on the vignette; while I do use them a lot, I find that I agree with Didace. It needs a bit of a lighter touch.

Re: Power Walk
The B&W and recrop works for me. It gets rid of the superfluous details that take away from the subject matter. You might want to try putting a small, light vignette back to pull the eyes in a bit.

Re: Power Walk
Thanks Manfred for the help and guidance.
Here it is with the suggested light vignette.
