    Competitions ...Thumbnails

Tried to insert a pic into the latest competition but it comes up as a thumbnail. How can I insert 'as others do?'
Must be my age ... Ron

    Hi Ron,

A better option than attachments is to use the albums feature of the site - just click on communities above, and follw your nose to create a public album.

To insert an image is really easy - just display the photo - right-click on it - left click on "properties". On the property sheet that opens up, highlight the URL (in the property sheet, not in the address bar) - press Ctrl+C to copy to the clipboard. In you post press the "insert image" button and then press Ctrl-V to paste the url to the image into the box that pops up. Press OK and "job done".

It sounds a little complicated, but piece of cake when you've done it once or twice.

    No worries Ron,

The "downside" of using attachments/thumbnails is that the storage space for them is limited -- so eventually you run out. And if you delete old ones to make room for new ones then the old ones disappear from the posts they appear in, which kinda makes a mess of things

To galleries are the way to go

Which brings up the question of how to (easily) move attachments over to the album. hmmm?

Pretty easy. Just open image via attachment - right click - save picture as - then upload saved file into gallery - and then edit the message to re-link to the new location. Should take less than a minute per photo.
