It's also a really good example of having a good light area at the back of scene to pull our eye through the image. It gives the picture greet depth. And, finally, I think the line of the river, or more particularly, the lines at the edges of the river contribute to a powerful composition in terms of taking us back and across the frame. There are strong lines that our eyes can latch on to and follow.
That's a really good 'un, in my opinion.

Thanks Donald. The sunlight really made it a challenge on this trail and most of the photos unfortunately did not make the cut.
