New things today...
Today was a day of firsts. My Dad is out of the hospital (for now) and he has several bird feeders spread around their property which got me thinking. After viewing multiple images on this site of Humming bird and Dragon flies, I thought I would give it a try.
Well, the Humming bird was a gigantic fail...
...This guy surprised me as I was staring at the feeder. I caught a glimpse of something as it zipped past my head and headed for the flowers. Manual focus, the wrong settings and this little thing is FAST
After my Humming bird fail I was searching for something a little more static when I found this...
...I tried to move around to get a different angle but every time I moved, so did he.

Re: New things today...
Nice sharp focus on the dragonfly. I've had plenty of failures on hummingbirds. Looking forward to the next one from you!

You've probably seen it but just in case, do a search for Steve's post that he did on how he does hummingbird shots. Some great info there. I think it was sometime last summer that he posted it.

Re: New things today...
Dragonfly is quite good...with my hummers, I pre-focus on the only flower available, settle back
in a recliner with my java and a remote shutter and wait and wait...eventually I'll get that bird.
