Nice caption and photo!
Thanks Mike,
Trying to convey how difficult it must be to preserve and showcase these ancient ruins in a city of 6 million people. At the same time showing you can modernize while still conserving your history for the most part.
Nice photo Tom.
You were extremely lucky to have that clean atmosphere. It's usually very hard to see the sea, not to mention Salamina in the back from Lycabettus with vivid colors due to humidity and air pollution.
Hope you had a nice stay in Greece.
Thanks Miltos,
I had an excellent stay in Greece and would recommend this as a vacation destination. Visited Thira (Santorini), Mykonos and Athens. I was wondering about the atmosphere and as they say timing is everything when taking photographs.
Very nice vista, great capture!
I visited Athens in late June and the air was pretty obscured by smog and water vapor in the air. I enjoyed Athens (My last trip was in the early 1960's) as well as the several islands that I visited.
However, I would not recommend a sea cruise to visit ANYWHERE... The ship will drop you off mid-morning and you will return early afternoon. Not enough time to do anything and in the worst time of the day to visit anywhere! My wife, however, loved the cruise. Different strokes for different folks.
Very cool!
I can see only tinypic cartoon
Oh....Yet David Allen has appreciated the image recently
That would be very difficult as TinyPic closed down almost a year ago, so none of the images have been available for quite some time.
