That works much better in my opinion karm. I think they benefit from the colour and the larger context. It's a great shot.
They remind me strongly of some of the curvy ladies used in the work of the late Beryl Cook

Nice photograph, Karm
Is this the same place you took the photo of the young lady reading a book? She also had a bicycle with her, if I remember correctly. This pic you posted several weeks ago.

Karm - My apologies for not seeing your earlier posting of the close-up.
This is a wonderful image. Apart from the social documentary aspect of it, which is so powerful, the approach taken to processing suits it perfectly.
I too like this better than the close up. You can almost imagine the conversation going on and their body language doesn't sync with a relaxed beach environment - you have captured this and many other contradictions well in this interesting image.
Seeing your photo reminded me immediately of Cartier-Bresson's photo. The similarities for me are the conversations, the size of the people, the use of the background in yours and the boat in his, etc. Take it as a supreme compliment that I'm comparing your image with Cartier-Bresson's image.
Thanks Daisy. I'll take the comparison to Cook.

Hi Bruce. Yes, same location, same day. As I walked along the beach I photographed the gal reading first and then these two ladies.

Thanks Donald. Appreciate comment on processing.

Mike, appreciate you comparing this image to a Cartier-Bresson. It should take me another couple of years to produce another worthy of such comparison. I better get to work.

John, thank-you.

Thanks Shane. Happy you picked up on body language. The moment I saw these two women, their body language, and the background I knew I had to have this image.

Neat capture. Tongue in cheek, I wondered if you used a UWA lens to capture these two ladies
Thanks Richard. No, I think just a standard 35.
