Scott, the 3rd and 4th look like a one-horse race, yet I can see on the video screen that were more horses there. I think these shots would be more engaging if you had focused further back on the field. You may not have been able to freeze the action of all the horses or obtain the same dof, but the blur would have given a sense of movement, which I like to see in action photos.
Also, it might improve the shots if you pay some attention to the background before the race begins and position yourself some place where you can frame the subjects so that it does not compete with tractors and other equipment in the background for the viewer's attention.
