My first Loon, so quiet, as he glides past the balcony of the chalet. I was holding my breath in front of such beauty. Can you feel the silence?

Very evocative. And yes I can feel the silence. I like that you chose black and white as it simplifies the image and enhances the feeling of quiet and solitude. The ripples on the still water are great.

Perhaps try darkening the sky just a fraction . You might bring up the water as a consequence and perhaps pull some more cloud detail if you did. A minor quibble however

Good one Louise. I agree with Trevor. I think it is great as a B & W.

    Hi Louise.

I can feel the silence. One suggestion is to clone out the bright light and its reflection near the right side of the image.

Thank you Donald and Trevor for your suggestions and comments. Here is an attempt at darkening the sky in lr4. Does it look more "smudgy"?

I included a link where you can listen to the Common Loon, I hope it works. The call of the Common Loon, (call #4).

No, I think that works well. It would have been easy to push it too far and then it would, at best, looked smudgy and, at worst, just plain awful. But you have done it gently and in a subtle way. Well done.
