I see no one has commented, so I will give it a go... I think it is a very nice image, sharp, well composed and exposed.


I can see a dark shadow along his shoulders and arms?

Victor - I think you tend to shoot / frame in a very non-traditional way, which gives the images an unbalanced look.

Try shooting so that your subjects look across the long side of the frame. All three of these shots look like they are crowded to the left side of the frame.

Hi Christina,

I purposely posed him against the sky(overcast cloudy).
I was using a simple kit lens: 18-105mm f4-5.6, so I couldn't get a nice bokeh to isolate him.

Now that you mentioned it, seems like there is a "dark shadow along his shoulders and arms".
I'll have to backtrack editing done on it so I can see where that came from.

Your "editing-eye" sure is sharp!

I was experimenting with "diagonal lines " as per the thoughts of Frank Dispensa, which evokes
"position of strength ......"

for instance in this short clip , showing how he analyzes a contestant's photo.

I love the composition, and how you isolated her from the background. I also like the ponytail, for the fun, innocent feeling and sense of movement

I was aiming for 2/3rd angle and a good notch on the side of her right eye.
Altho, normally, we avoid too much eye-whites, I feel it's just enough in this image.
