Jon, this is a very nice photo. Did you do any PP to it?
Bruce
Very, very nice, Jon. All you need is a nymph or two to make Maxwell Parrish jealous.

Bruce, yes the processing included Aperture white balance correction, NIK Veveza, dust spot removal in CS5, contrast curve and dodge and burn on the cliff face, some noise removal with imagenomic and smart sharpen and a slight vignette. WOW, thats sounds like more than it seemed at the time.
That's a sweet image , jon. I think you made a great decision moving down stream.
Have you considered cropping the dirt patch at the bottom. It's triangular shape really grabs my attention. Also this would move the mountain out of the center of the frame. What ever you decide, I really like it.
Jon, nice image. I can't make-up my mind if a little less sky might improve your image. Like how you processed it. Seems to fit.

Lovely vista of one of my favorite locations. Where in Zion was it shot?
Amazingly beautiful. Zion seems beautiful everywhere.
Not sure exactly what ratio that is (looks like about 1:1.75). Normally, I'm not keen on the tall, skinny type of presentation, but it works very well here. Just shows that presentation of the image is an important part of the process.
I think it's a really good composition that uses the bank of the river very well to pull us back into the scene.
In my humble opinion, it's fantastic. I feel like I'm there enjoying it. Well done.
Great shot Jon. You should put it in a mini comp.

You know Steve, now that you have redrawn my attention to it I can't get my eyes off the patch of dirt. I did burn it down from the original, we'll see.
Richard, I took this between the Hwy 9 bridge over the Virgin river and the first bridge on the PA'RUS
trail

Jon, don't do anything because someone has said something, do it because 'you' think it sould be done, and it will make the image better. It's your image, show it how 'you' want it to be seen.
It's a wonderful image, no matter what you choose.
A lovely scene well captured. I love Zion and this represents it well.

Thanks John.
later this week I will post the "Tourist" shot before I work on it and hopefully get some input from the forum. I have not touched it yet as there is a lot going on in the shot and I really don't know where to start, maybe just leave it in my archives
