    Terrific photos and explanation of how they came to be!

    My understanding is that the great wildlife photographers are also naturalists. They understand the animals they are shooting in the sense that they know their habits, the habits of their prey and predators, etc, and have a deep, abiding respect for them. They also have the time that most of we hobbyists don't have. Even if we had the required time, they have the patience and persistence that few of us, you being one of the small few, would use.

    The first shot is excellent, and I really like the third one. As you already have figured out one of the most important aspects of wildlife photography is patience.
