For me, Rico, background distraction is the problem here.
I would treat it more as a portrait shot and crop closer to remove as much background as possible.

Hi Rico. Since you asked for C&C, I will let you know my thoughts. Focus and DOF look pretty good. The two key issues I have with the image are 1. The crop should be less wide- take some of the right and left off, and 2. The background is really bad and distracting due to the out of focus highlights everywhere. Next time, try to find a subject or angle that reduces background distractions.
