Joe, these are really nice captures. I like the last one (Catbird) best.

Joe,
Really not much for me to say other than stunning.
The isolation of the subject on the willet shot is awesome. And the bird is well exposed. Preening shots rarely look as good as they seem at time of capture and this one is no exception. IMO a clear, complete view of the bird with those techs would really be an over the top image.
The pelicans are really nice clean, well executed shots. The catbird is spot on with the techs and the bird is in a nice pose. Some work on the BG would help a lot, at minimum getting rid of the bright grass/branches sticking in from the right side of the frame.
Don't you love going back through files that you haven't looked at for a while and coming up with some nice images?
Hello Dan, thank you for taking the time to comment in depth, I appreciate the feedback. I do like going back through the images, as my skills increase I see things and ways to make them better. Fall is approaching and the migratory birds will be arriving so I was filing this years keepers getting ready to make some more images.
Below are additional captures of the Willet, I think one may be the full clear view of the bird you mentioned.

Hi Joe: Thanks for sharing these. I always look forward to your posts. I particularly like #1 and # 4. I wish I had shots like these that I could forget, about and then re-discover!
#1 in the second set is about perfect. Love that position on birds. Looking back across the shoulder you get the eye contact plus the more interesting plumage on the back/wings vs the breast. That's really a nice shot.
I figured you must have more frames of that one. When they're preening they usually don't go anywhere soon and there is ample time to snap a few shots. Nicely done.
Got to agree with Dan on the second set although I am pulled between no.1 and 2. The second shot with the ripples defining the boundary between bird and reflection is quite special.
Thanks for sharing Joe... Beautiful images... I would like to see some more pelican photos one day
Thank you Christina, I appreciate you viewing and commenting. Dottie and I are heading to the coast along the Gulf of Mexico tomorrow. Hopefully shoot some wading birds in the early morning and then flying gulls and pelicans later on from the fishing piers. So I should have some pelicans to post in a couple days.
Thank you Joe... I'm missing my pelicans so appreciated. Enjoy your time with Dottie.
