Very fine photographs. Peace is a fine looking barn owl.

Good photos of a nice looking bird. I had my first good look at a barn owl a couple of weeks ago at a raptor centre. They're very attractive birds.

I assume you used the 70-200 zoom rather than your 100-400 because the former's wider aperture?

Three fine shots but no. 3 is a cracker. The mottled lighting somehow seems to fit the subject for me.

Bruce, I agree. The plumage color is awesome and you have to love the heart shaped head feathers. Yep the 70-200 is a cracker -- my favorite lens.

Thanks John. #3 is my favorite also. The tree cover offered up the excellent dappled light and metering on the white feathers did the rest.

Nice set. They each have different and attractive features. The second one is a bit tight and may be stronger if the face wasn't quite as far to the left in the frame. Overall quite well done.

Thanks Dan. The second was kind of indecisive. I was torn between trying to get a "portrait" like photo and then fell in love with the brown and grey feathers on her back. I think that indecisiveness comes across.

Very nice images of a beautiful bird.. #1 is my favourite because he/she is looking at me and all the fine detail seen in the face.
