Hello there my names Kenny happily married father of 2, my youngest is starting full time school shortly so I need a hobby to tie in with my cycling. I've always loved messing about with cameras so I figured I'll give it a go and just invested in a Olympus E510 from a second hand site maybe I should have consulted this forum first but I have heard good things at entry level ??
I work offshore on the rigs and have some wonderfully opportunities of sunsets and sunrises however certain cameras aren't allowed as they are a source of ignition BUT I have just landed a job on the Shetland Islands so no matter how green I am at the moment I know enough to know its an opportunity!! And plan on taking advantage of it.
I love asking questions and know how valuable experience is, and know there's a lot of good folk willing to share, so if you would be so kind I would like to tap in on that, most of my questions are so basic they may make some laugh but you have to start somewhere and who knows I may get to a level where I can return the favour

Have you taken a look at any of the CiC tutorials yet? They are generally considered helpful.

Best thing to do though is to ask any questions, don't be embarrassed we all started somewhere and do post a few of your sunsets and more, from up there in Shetland.

Hi Kenny, glad you joined CiC. I'm sure you will find this a friendly and informative site.
Sounds like you have some very interesting location for photography.
As Ian suggested, look through the tutorials and I look forward to seeing some of your photo's.
