That is a wonderful capture. The aircrafts' placement and motion blur really convey their close proximity and head-on speed. I've tried to get this kind of shot at the air shows I've photographed but have never gotten a result this good. The Red Arrows are a top team and have a beautiful performance. Good job!

Thanks Paul. Multiple shots using continuous focus, high speed continuous drive and a lot of luck! Focus was on the right hand aircraft which is pin sharp but the left hand aircraft is slightly out of focus (too shallow dof with my chosen aperture using a 70-300 lens on a 1.5 crop camera) hence a little motion blur to mask the fault as best I could. I'll get it right one day.
