Nikon D7000 suddenly stopped working with the wireless transmitter.

Hello, I hope someone can help me in this.

I have a Nikon D7000 and a yongnuo wireless transmitter and an off-camera flash.

They were all working fine together until my son fidgeted with the camera. (I am not sure if he dropped it or just pressed the buttons. I am sure he did not change anything inside the camera menu, maybe just the buttons on the outside of the camera). But now the camera doesn't seem to send a signal to the transmitter. When I press the test button on the transmitter, the off camera flash is fired. when I connect the flash directly to the camera , it works too. But when the transmitter is on the camera and i click the shutter, the flash doesn't fire. Knowing that it was working just 5 minutes earlier!

Sorry if i am using the wrong technical words. Not a big expert.
I hope that makes sense to someone.

Probably a silly idea but did junior upset the register of the transmitter [ sitting in the hot shoe?] to camera pins in hot shoe by chance?

Nothing looks broken. Is there any way to know?

Was it 5 minutes later or overnight? Battery issue?

I've been known to leave my pocket wizard flex on by mistake and the battery drains quite fast overnight.

With my PW's there is an occasional issue with getting everything synched. I have to switch everything on from the top down.

i.e. flash, then transmitter, then camera.

Getting things out of synch results in misfires/late fires/no fires

Not knowing your triggers, this may be an issue to consider....

Every thing seems to work fine on their own:
Flash works fine when connected to camera directly and with pilot button
Trigger and receiver and flash work fine when test button on trigger is pressed
Only thing not working is shutter button not firing flash off camera, while it was working fine 5 minutes ago.

So which shooting mode are you in? Have you been put into P mode, which will suppress the flash?

Check how the transmitter is seated on the hotshoe. 99% of the time with Yongnuo triggers that can be an issue. Which triggers are we talking about, btw? If they're the 622Ns, you may also want to try resetting them.

If the flash fires the camera portion of the firing should be OK. It's just shorting two of the pins on a non-intelligent flash or trigger. If the Yongnuo's have the option, are they both on the same channel? If everything looks to be set to the proper configuration, (confirm it) take out the batteries and let the units sit for an hour. Put fresh batteries back in and retry.
