    Only if the viewfinder coverage is 100%, many cameras are in the range 95-98%, so you capture more than you see

    Yes - what I was trying to reassure "Old Veteran" of was that you don't see the FF equivalent in the VF but only capture 65% of it. In that context 95-98% is close enough

    This will true with both FF and not FF cameras. Sony A99, A7 and A7r, for example, are FF cameras that provide 100% coverage of the FOV through their EVFs.
