Thanks Richard, thanks Christina. Christina, it's an exercise in layers. I made the image when I was learning how to use layers. It's done in PS and it's a fairly protracted (but not complicated) process (the way I did it). If anybody is interested I'm happy to describe it in detail but it might be better as a separate thread.

Thank you for sharing John... Learning layers is on my to learn list, but I'm not ready for layers yet, so for now I will just appreciate the artistry behind your image.

You are welcome Christina. Getting to grips with layers is one of the more worthwhile steps you will take in PS. It will expand your range out of all proportion to the effort involved.
