Hi Jack,
While these are great captures, I think they might have been/could be better ....
I believe I see Chromatic Aberration (CA), especially in the first two (shot with Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM at 70mm), I'm fairly certain you could correct this in your "ACR 7.2 (Mac)" by simply ticking a box (and perhaps moving a slider) on the lens correction tab.
My favourite is the third (shot with Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM at 70mm); sharper and with a more unusual trace
Hope that helps,
Hi Juan,
I peeked at the EXIF data for you and the first two are 100 iso, the third at 200.
Cheers,

Re: More lightning
Great photos. I was reminded of a night flight heading toward California, we flew over what I would guess was a thunderstorm. I watched lightening flashing through the clouds and the colors were really amazing.

Re: More lightning
Nice, so difficult to get a good lightning strike.

No 3 is amazing. For a 30 sec exposure the tree is pretty sharp.

Hi Juan,
Welcome to CiC.
For these shots you normally want minimum ISO so the shutter cam be left open for longer without unwanted exposure of other things occurring (the lightning is too fast for humans to react to it to release the shutter). Conversely, the lightning is so bright, you wouldn't want a high ISO setting.
