That looks like a neat trick
That looks like a neat trick
Thanks, guys. Will try for more neat shots sometime. Was feeling way too sleepy, yet too excited to try these shots.
Why is there an inverted reflection of illuminated text?
I think I should keep all my queries and new posting here, in this thread, so as not to clutter the forum.
Here are a few shots I took yesterday. It was the first time I went out to take some nice shot. But the sun and haze were causing some trouble. Anyways here are a few shots, that I have liked and processed so far. (converted to jpg.)
In this image I was wondering if I should clone the wires out. I tried it a bit, but it was getting little untidy. Then I thought of having the crow in the center and just a few branches above and below it.
Here is another random shot.
Would love to hear some comments and critics.
Now there is another shot, I really need help with. This is my bestest friend's pic. I really liked her expression in this pic. There are two things in this picture that I am not liking. A girl in the background and little ferns in the front. For next few shots I did change the angle, but its her expressions in this pic that I have fallen in love with. What do you all suggest?
I'm guessing that it is a reflection of the very bright light from the anti-aliasing filter on the front of the sensor then being reflected back to it by the rear surface of the rear element in the lens??
That would explain why it's upside down and backwards. Does that make any sense to anyone?
Roger
Well, a few words (anti-aliasing filter, rear surface, rear element ) are martian to me, but yes, it has to be that
I came across this guy named Gjon Mili who developed the technique "painting with light" (so i have heard, need confirmation).
I think it's the same technique as what you did?

He had a Nokia E-63 back then?
I am kind of irritated right now. The CiC site just doesn't open up. I, now so often get error when trying to open the site. I had had a word with Sean, last night through e-mails. Even he had no clue about it.
I am addicted to this forum.
And I really was looking forward to a few comments on the latest pics I have posted
i can see your excitement keep the momentum going shots are great .........
I think you have lost a bit of the character of the photograph by cropping out the figure in the back. By keeping this character in the photo you bring a bit of mystery to the setting. Is this person a relative, is there a clash between cultures, etc? Think of this photograph as a candid photograph and build a story with the characters. This way, elements such as composition and photo quality are irrelevant to the spontaneity of the image.
Well Pops, this cropped up image is looking pretty good. Actually I wanted to keep the hill, sky and the tree in the pic. But this cropped image is looking pretty fine too. Thanks.
@ Shadowman:- Or could it mean that she is naughtily pointing out towards the female who has covered herself? And culture clash? Didn't quite get that.
Shadowman, she is not wearing a Burqa She has just covered herself with her shawl, as it was too sunny, or may be because her guy was sitting on her right.
Wait a minute. Only you and I know that, not others. So why not let it be a culture clash
I cropped for the expression. I agree that some of the impact of the original is now gone, but the expression on her face is what I wanted to capture.
Had a heck of a time with cloning the upper left corner. I'm not sure what was going on. I do know I spent most of the night fighting a trojan I picked up shortly after that. It took three passes with malwarebytes and avg to get rid of all of the fakealert trojan.

Hey pops, sorry for all the inconvenience you had to go through. I really appreciate your efforts. Thanks once again.
You have nothing for which to be sorry. I did the PP on the picture because I thought is was good enough to spend time on and learning hoe to handle some tools. You didn't load the trojan on my machine, so there is nothing there to worry about, either.Hey pops, sorry for all the inconvenience you had to go through. I really appreciate your efforts. Thanks once again.
I enjoyed the learning process and am fairly pleased with how the young beauty turned out.
