Re: Calcutta, India
All buildings look very old and frail.....
No facelift for Kolkata so far?

Re: Calcutta, India
Near the airport there are definitely some nice buildings, but I was told they are mostly empty.

Re: Calcutta, India
Very interesting shot. This looks like a neat place to shoot.
I might suggest a bit of cropping at the top, a bit of sharpening and a bit of increased contrast and/or vibrancy. If possible, I might correct the vertical distortion from the wide angle lens. I hate to add all those suggestions but, the image is really quite nice and is worth working on.

rpcrowe, thanks for the suggestions. I am going to see what I can do to incorporate them.

Re: Calcutta, India
Ok I made some of the adjustments that were suggested. I sharpened a little bit, added some contrast and cropped the top some. I was having trouble with the lens correction, so if anyone can help with that - I would appreciate it.

Re: Calcutta, India
Hi Tim,
I like the image a lot and prefer the softer version but with the crop. I use LR5 and took I quick shot. Used Lens Correction -> Basic-> Auto. Here is what I got. What are you using? Someone may have a technique.

Re: Calcutta, India
This is what it looked like after I played with it for a bit. I like the way that the distant buildings are obscured by the haze/smog which gives me a feeling of depth...
BTW: I have found that in many cities, hospitals offer great views of the surrounding area.

Re: Calcutta, India
Calcutta is the main city of India, and you have taken a beautiful picture there, which is posted above. I really appreciate your work in this regard.
