    On Beautiful Ridge

This is where I live. On Beautiful Ridge. As typical in Ohio, the area has been extensively logged and mined. These pictures were taken on our road itself.

    1. Sunrise this morning.

    2. Old mine road.

    4. Another mine road. They say that this road actually goes somewhere. I have been back that road and it gets to be 4 wheel drive further in.

    5. On the way home this evening. Almost to the top of the ridgeline. This is the last turn.

#1, its the "god rays" that make the image, I would crop out the blue part of the sky and the left 25% of the image. The other 4 are just too busy, too much competition for the eye.
Maybe some dodging and burning to focus the eye to the road/trail would help???

    Thanks everyone.

William, green on green on green can be difficult because it is harder for the eye to focus on something. Thanks for reminding me of that.

I will try cropping the sunrise image again. I had a niggling doubt that all that sameness at the top 1/3 was boring.

Marie, #1 is wonderful but I agree with William about the others. A couple of ideas -

    1. Perhaps you could shoot #2 with the track towards the left so it curves into the frame, e.g. -

    On Beautiful Ridge

    2. Perhaps you could shoot when it's misty and leave out the bland sky, to add mystery to the images of the tracks, e.g. -
