Sugar Maple Gold
Ok so the Sugar Maple leaves turn red not gold, when I say this, I saw a pure golden shot, hard to think that it could get any better. This was taken along the north side of Hwy 60 thru Algonquin Park west of Bat Lake. The Red and Sugar Maples were just hitting their peak in the higher elevations and the western end of the park.
Cheers:
Allan

Goregeous colour. And with the limbs of the tree being so prominent, there is a strong primary point of interest around which we can then enjoy that amazing colour. So, it's a good composition as well, I think.

I am jealous of you guys having all these gorgeous mix of colours. Love this pix, as Donald mentioned the positioning of the branch on the left third is a strong anchor for this pix. BTW, gals are included

A great shot, the graduation of colours is wonderful - nature never gets it wrong huh ? You've captured it so well.

I love it, somewhat of a cross between an abstract and a Japanese water color.

Re: Sugar Maple Gold
Hi Allan - beautiful shot! Normally I don't like trees without their bases - I like them to be grounded. But this image really works because of that y at the bottom. Interesting...

Re: Sugar Maple Gold
Susan: I am shooting across a 2 lane Hwy, just above a guard rail, actually the base of that tree is another 15 feet below the bottom on this image. It was the trunk and branches against the colour that really caught my eye. Glad you like the shot, trying to print however the reds are giving me a problem coming out a little flat, but I think that it is a print worth working on.

Re: Sugar Maple Gold
Beautiful shot, Allan. Another good example that the "essence" of a tree can be communicated without its entirety. I'd really have to push the contrast setting on my printer to do justice to this.

Agreed, beautiful colors, nice texture. The way you framed this is also a strong Comp.

Re: Sugar Maple Gold
The stark trunk and limbs really make this shot work. And the colour is absolutely brilliant
