Good to be back

Hi all, I haven't been here in a while so it's good to be back. I was taking some portraits of my granddaughter recently and her are a couple of the results. Feedback welcome. Thanks.

I really like image #1 with a couple of nit-picking comments... The black strap at the bustline of her dress catches my attention away fro her eyes perhaps a bit higher crop would eliminate this. Her left eye in the image has red veins which could be cleared up.

Perhaps asking her to moisten her lips with her tongue might give them a shine...

No.1 for me as well. The pose is more natural but more importantly the lighting is spot on. The main light source in no.2 seems to be at a low angle.

Thank you Richard I appreciate the feedback. I haven't dared to do any post processing in the white of the eyes yet, but I think you are right, it does need attention. Anne

So do I... she looks at least 3 years younger in #2. Nice shots, Anne. Just check the white balance, as #1 looks just a little to the blue side. (maybe it is just my monitor).
