Eighteen Mile Creek
A couple of shots from a hike we took on Eighteen Mile Creek in New York.
C&C welcome and appreciated...

Re: Eighteen Mile Creek
I'm finding, Susan, that the second one doesn't really have a main point of interest upon which the eyes can focus. It's a bit busy and confusing. The first one, on the other hand, is very different. That river/creek has wonderful light on it and it takes us back into the image. I think that one is a far, far better composition.

Re: Eighteen Mile Creek
I like them both; however #1 is my favorite. A real sense of depth in this photo.
Good work Susan.

Re: Eighteen Mile Creek
Donald - I agree with your assessment! I do like #2 as the creek is at a sort of diagonal disappearing toward the upper right of the frame - but, I can see what you're saying about the eye traveling around not finding a main point of interest. Thanks very much for your critique.
George - thanks and I'm glad you like it.
Bruce - I'm so glad you commented - I know you like this type of shot and was hoping you'd see them.
#1 is my favorite too - I'm very happy with it.

Re: Eighteen Mile Creek
Yes, the tapering water body leads eyes to the thick forest in first image and works well; the second definitely lacks a POI
