Here's a shot that I try from time to time. This time a shot of a sparrow, converted to B&W and then the colour restored to the sparrow.

Thats an excellent photo Rob, love it and I am a fan of color with B&W

I know not everyone like these highlighted colour shots, but that really is excellent, probably because of the subtlety of the brown colouring of the bird. Beautifully sharp where it needs it.



PS Sparrows used to be so common where I lived and I now rarely see any of them. Obviously headed off to rural Lincolnshire!

We were practising night shots & seeing the results of varying white balance. Can't remember what I did with this WB, but rest of EXIF was focal length 35mm, F5.6, shutter 13sec. Hope you like it.

Thanks for comments - it gave me the motivation to find out the ISO. Picasa gave all the information; so the missing bits are - ISO 800, spot metering, incandescent WB. I'm very glad to find that out, as I'd tried to replicate that rich blue without success. So thanks again.

I loved your city shots from 1st SLR especially the fountains.
