Bosphorus Bridge - Red or Blue?

Here are two shots of the Bosphorus Bridge here in Istanbul, Turkey. This bridge is very important in that it is the only bridge connecting two continents, Europe and Asia in this case. This was shot from the Asian side about 20 minutes after sunset and any C&C would be appreciated.

I like the first a lot and I think the blue clashes in the second, at least to my eye. Interesting though that the water is blue in the first and not the second. Maybe if there was more blue in the second it might work.

Before I shot this, I too thought the blue one would be better with more contrast, but now I prefer the red myself.

I like the red one more because of the crop and the color in the sky. I wonder how this setup would look like with a blue bridge.

I do like the red image best although both are nice. From where did you shoot the bridge? I hope to return to Istanbul someday. I visited your exciting city for a few days in June and am really anxious to return.

BTW: Turkish Airlines is one of the best airlines I have ever traveled on. I flew from Venice to Istanbul and back using Turkish Airlines and if I knew how good they were, I would have flown the entire USA to Italy to Istanbul and back trip with them!

By the way, it's funny you mentioned Turkish Airlines. My wife has been working there as a flight attendant for over a decade, and I agree they are a great airline company.

Everything about the first one works best for me -- the darker sky, the more refined (less exposed?) lights of the cars, and the blue tone of the river and distant mountains.

The first shot works better overall or me as well. Not just the color. Comp etc. is superior IMO.
