Bamboo can have a glorious ambiance. It also has marvelous acoustics. One day (it is a long story) we had a retired Pavarotti understudy visiting and he just rocked the place. Sadly since we built it the neighbourhood has changed and we have built a hollow block 'Hobbit' house to avoid the noise and troubles.
