Every piece of a bamboo house is hand crafted. From the hand crafted and hand set bamboo nails to the binding that add beauty and strength to the joints. These bindings are over ten years old, have survived earthquakes and typhoons and aside from needing a dusting and some varnish they are in great shape.

Fair enough. But it is in as good a focus as I could get it. And as much as it is a wee bit out you have my apologies. But it does show an interesting construction technique which was the purpose of the post.
