Red and Green Leaves
Took this the other day. The foliage is still spotty in Boston. Another week or two and it will be brilliant. I did a slight crop on this picture. Do you think it should be cropped differently? Did I over sharpen the photo... the leaves and veins popped more with extra sharpening.
C and C welcome.

Re: Red and Green Leaves
I think the it is too crowded to offer a refined enjoyment this time; probably a vertical crop of only red leaves can help somewhat?

Re: Red and Green Leaves
Hi Ali,
I think the background is too busy and takes away from the gorgeous colours you captured. If it were me I would try again, perhaps closer in focusing on just capturing the beauty of the leaves or from a different angle to minimize the background. The light, detail and colour you captured is beautiful.

Re: Red and Green Leaves
Beautiful colours, Ali. I like the juxtaposition of the red and green. There a few blown highlights that you could tone down (eg, the twig in the lower left quadrant; a white spot above the red leaf in upper right quadrant). A light touch of a blur brush to the green leaves in the upper right might help the dof.

Re: Red and Green Leaves
it is a bit of a mismatch in terms of composition with different leaves all over the image and my eye is not picking any subject out, nothing stands out.

Re: Red and Green Leaves
Thanks for your comments Greg.
The colors were what drew me to take the photo. I was going to take just the red, but thought the green was nice with the shadow of the twigs behind it.

Re: Red and Green Leaves
Hi Dave,
Thanks for your comments. I think everyone is right, there is just too much going on with the background and too many leaves. I'll try a crop with just the red side/ or green side or maybe take another picture.
