This was purely serendipitous. he was out sunbathing beside the rock I wanted to photograph. It was a full body shot but i thought i would concentrate on his head.

Yes I am. The eye is reasonably sharp and clear. The ear(?) hole is defined nicely. His skin is shiny, moist and constantly changing to suit the environment. The greatest clarity is around the head but with this close a shot i don't know how to get everything in focus on different planes. I also believe that the way the body parts closest to the rock seem to dissolve and marge with the rocks is true to what i was seeing. There was also the reality that this guy was watching me and as soon as he could he was going to run for it so there was not a lot of time to play with settings and I left the camera on super macro as I slowly moved in.

I like the composition and the contrast of the liz. with the rock; lacks a bit on sharpness, yet i liked it

I was not well braced and was using auto settings. These fellows freeze if they think they have been seen but move like lightning wheh they see a chance so there wasn't a lot of time to go to manual or get really set up. an added possible factor is that their skin is in constant change as they adjust their colour. Sometimes the front half will be brown and the back half bright green.
