The yellow one is underexposed and "flat looking", needs contrast added in PP.
Second one is good...might look better using a B&W conversion.

I don't agree with the first one being under-exposed.
You could brighten it a touch (and add a bit of contrast), but you have very little leeway left in the red channel.
Otherwise both are nice captures, with good DoF.
