My first photo....
Well, obviously not my first image but, this is the first image I ever shot with a Smart Phone. I used my wife's iPhone 5 to shoot this picture of Baxter a rescue Maltese who was adopted by this little girl and her family. Both the Girl and Baxter are thrilled with the new arrangement!
I was pretty surprised at the quality of the image.

Re: Whoops!
I am glad you managed to find a home for another dog. But sad that there is need for people do this.
I suppose some will think you a bit a of a heretic for using the dreaded smartphone camera. There seems to be a bit of a feeling that putting the ability to take decent quality images with a phone into everyone's hands cheapens the creativity or value of photography for those of us who are serious about it as an art form. For most people it is about documenting their lives and it brings them, and their loved ones, joy. Anything that increases the quotient of happiness in the world is to be encouraged.
One other point. If some person in a repressive regime can can expose wrong then that is an advancement in democracy and human rights. The more light shining under rocks the better.
