    Tables are turned

    Morning all.

My Sister has bought a voucher to use with a photogrpahy studio in Chichester, UK. She wants us to have a family portrait session. So it will include me and 4 other adults and my Son.

The photographer is www.thephotographylounge.co.uk based out of Chichester.

Like a lot of photographers I am a lot less comfortable in front of the lens than behind. I have a certain amount of sceptiscim (no rational reason for this I might add) but also curiosity to see how it goes.

I am curious to know if anyone else has any experience with this photographer or would share any similar experiences.

    Have a great day.

    Darren

I know nothing about the photographer in question, rather a long way away but I hope you will not do what I did with my wedding photos and look at the camera while the photographer concentrated on my lovely wife. Just the two of us in a strange city with no supporting freinds but with a family group the photographers job would be even harder. My wife of course looked at the photographer which was the shots he and we wanted.

    Hi, Darren,

Contrary to the opinion of many photographers, it really doesn't hurt to be on the other end of the camera. ;~)

Some time ago, while visiting in Winchester, we visited a couple of cathedrals in southern England and, while I was out walking around Chichester before we actually got to the Cathedral, I remember looking at a photographer's studio in the neighborhood north of the Cathedral. But, I have no recollection of the name of the studio, sorry to say. The photos in the window were pretty nice for what I, at that time, called people pictures. Since my interests were and remain more in architecture, landscapes, and undomesticated critters, unfortunately I don't remember more about the studio.

I iwll certainly do my best to go into it with an open mind and try not to be the grumpy old man that I am slowly turning into

    Hi Virginia

It always amazes me when people so far away can comment on something that is local to me, I clearly need to travel more, I hope you enjoyed your time in the UK.

The studio location is pretty much North of the cathedral so it is certainly possible that the studio you saw and I am going to are the same one.

No specific experience with this photographer.

I recommend that your family wear conservative clothing that is somewhat style and color coordinated. I also recommend that if there are any heavy-set females in the group; they should not wear a bare shouldered or sleeveless top. I also recommend that the females pay special attention to their makeup...

Have fun and good luck with your family images...
