Two crackers.
I suppose we could have a debate about cloning out that twig running upwards in the frame at the top of #2, but ......!
What works especially well for me, is the size of the main subject (the bird) relative to the overall size of the image. They're all in proportion.

Hi Keith,
Tell me, what is your secret for these little bird shots?
Are these shot in your garden after months or years of encouraging them with feeders?
Or do you go somewhere you know they frequent?
Or was it just your lucky day?
We have four cats, so have never really tried to encourage the birds for fear of feeding the cats
Do I detect a bit of fill flash providing a catchlight in their eyes?

Re: Must be my lucky day!
Hi Dave, I do encourage birds into my garden but I never seem to be able to get close enough to take photo's of them, I even cut a tree down to just leave a couple of slim trunks to put feeders and a table on but they won't let me anywhere near them.
I go to a nature reserve not far from my home when I get time,.but I don't often get good shots like these.
There are people down there who spend all day 3-4 days a week or are there every evening in summer months and get cracking shots on a regular basis. Wish I had the time.
I just got lucky and had a really good session today.
I have a couple more to post.
Yes I did use a diffused flash today as light was not very good.
Thanks for all your comments.
Keith

Jim B. You do many amazing bird shots too. What is your secret. I've been meaning to ask, but always forget. Now that we are on the topic...do you have any tips?
Wendy
