    The Company's Garden -- Thread #1: Flowers

The Company's Garden in Cape Town is much more than a garden; it includes architecture, geese and other birds including an aviary, trees, flowers, ponds, walkways, and of course people enjoying all of that. That's so true that I have divided photos taken during our outing there among various threads to hopefully enhance the presentation value. We only spent a few hours there under heavily cloudy skies but came away feeling excellent about our time spent there.

If you're interested in information about the area, you might want to check out The Company's Garden official website.

That is the best rose shot I have seen in long time, Mike. Well done.

    Thank you, everyone!

Every once in a while, everything comes together rather easily. The shot was handheld and there was very little post-processing. Just a slight adjustment to the curve, standard sharpening, crop and zapping three very tiny blemishes. Coming upon a model in such perfect condition when the natural lighting was ideal was 95% of making the image.

Yes, I think Mike was born to photograph flowers... I adore his flowers and wish he would photograph more of them.

    Mike,

The detail in the rose is captured superbly and so lucky to find an example that's perfect.
