Trying to reduce the size of a picture using Capture NX 2. I have followed the directions in the book and Help. The picture will reduce but when you attach it in gmail it is full size.
Any help greatly appreciated.

I assume you wanted to attach a JPEG to your Gmail. Did you save the smaller file to a JPEG from a NEF or from a JPEG? If you were saving from a NEF, also please confirm that you saved the file to a JPEG, as it's easy to accidentally save to a NEF if you are saving from a NEF. Once I know all of that information I'll get back to you.

The picture sstarted out as NEF but I saved it as JPEG before I tried to re-size.
I've been trying to put the picture in as the senders photo.

I recommend that you try the entire process one more time. Carefully record all of the steps so you can post them here if it doesn't work properly.
99.9% of the JPEGs that I post here at CiC started their life as full-size NEFs post-processed in CNX2, so I know you should be able to make it happen.

John,
In the EDIT menu, scroll down to SIZE / RESOLUTION and click on it. A dialog box will open in the ADJUST portion on the right hand side. You'll be able to adjust the both the output size in inches, mm or cm (width & height) and you'll also be able to adjust the file size in pixels or by %.(width & height).
Make your changes and click apply. You'll see the reduced file size after you clicked apply. If it's not to your liking, you can undo and change it.
I normally save this as a JPEG with 1200 DPI on the long side for emails.
