    Geotagging

Geotagging seems to be a concern for some who didn't realize it's imbedded data.

Was there supposed to be a video? Couldn't see anything except the article title.

    Re: Geotagging

My cameras don't geo-tag as a rule, most don't have it and the one that is capable has it turned off to conserve the battery life for taking pictures - call me old fashioned

The risk I assume is that if you shoot and publish a picture with EXIF data showing you own fancy kit and say it was shot in your backyard or house, then people know exactly where to break in to get a haul of fancy camera kit

I can see geo-tagging possibly being of use in the great outdoors, like a national park, say.

Even if the data is embedded when shot, there are usually options to exclude this from the EXIF data of jpgs produced from the main PP/editing programs or even on upload to some web hosting sites (e.g. PBase). Remembering will be the issue here - that's why mine is off almost always.

But there will always be some people who don't 'RTFM' and might get caught out through ignorance
