Apart from entering a couple of mini comps this is my first posting on the forum for C&C,please let me know if there is anything i can, could do to improve my macro!
Hi Geoff, it was the tiny pic method I tried but for some reason it did not work? Hence the reason for the small file sizes! Thanks anyway for your help.....
I would love to see these posted at around 1200 pixel width as they can not be really appreciated at this size. You have captured good poses with the flies, can you give us shooting/gear details please?
Capturing a flys eyes is what we all aim for and they have to be one of the most photographed and interesting subjects in the bug world.
The images were captured using a Canon 7d,Canon 100mm f2.8l lens and Canon 580 flash on lowest setting(next time i will diffuse) and all hand held with a lot failure i might add lol.
I will try again and see if i can upload larger files.
Cheers David
Grahame,
Images still not 1200 but they are larger,i think lol
Nice shots David, pretty good detail on the fly's eye too. Maybe the white is a bit washed out in the second photo, but your flash seems to have worked well here.
Yes i agree with you about image 2, but it was very strong sunshine on a whitewashed wall, maybe i will try in p.p to dull things down a tad.
Thank you for the comments.
Thanks for your comments.
All three images were shot with Canon 7d,Canon 100mm f2.8l macro with Canon 580ex flash on lowest setting and all handheld, all f9,iso 200,1/200sec and man. focus. The one thing i did not do was diffuse the flash, must do better lol, hope this helps you out.
