Not only has Colour Efex Pro done a good job (although I'm sure you helped a bit!), but the composition is wonderful ... I think. The whole thing works really well.

Don't think it's the same wind farm, but I had a go at a group of turbines in the Solway a couple of years back. It's here.

    John, that is gorgeous.

Beautiful tones, a lovely lead in from the detritus on the beach and that great sky and ethereal looking turbines. I love everything about it.

A very interesting and intriguing image John. I love the way you used the light to draw all attention to the wind turbines.

Off topic: Wonder who the first person was to call it a “wind farm”. Is it not supposed to be producing electricity and not wind?

... and the people in it!

But John may have been on the other side (Scotland's neighbour) for this one. But then he was lucky, as he would be looking towards Scotland!

    Re: Solway Firth.

Thanks Donald. Same turbines. We were staying in Kippford and I have a similar view of them as yours. This shot was taken a bit further along the coast east of there across Mersehead sands from the nature reserve - so the beautiful side of the Firth. My other half tends to like to go somewhere new and so we don't often return to places but a return match to this area is definitely on the cards.

Thanks Sharon. I think that I'm learning something about thinking out of the box from you.

Interesting thought Andre. You so often come across a misuse of language these days although in a sense, here the turbines are I suppose "harvesting" the wind.

Glad you liked it Dave/Kaye. Scotland is not only beautiful, it's unspoiled by the ravages of commercialism. Kippford and the surrounding villages are gems.

Thanks Christina. Your welcome Sharon. Sorry about the tardy reply. We've been away for a few days chasing Autumn colours but they are a bit late this year.

Scotland...Scotland...is that a city or what?
We're putting those wind-farms on dry land and they have a side effect of killing our eagle population.

This image induces happiness. I think it must be a wind harnessing farm

Wars have been started for remarks like that!!

Scotland is a nation that in 1707 joined a partnership (which was meant to be a partnership) with its southern neighbour, England. England is no more the United Kingdom, than Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are ... despite what an awful lot of people in the world think. They are supposed to be equal.

What I hope you meant Donald is the despite what others may think, Scotland is no less a part of the UK than England, Northern Ireland and Wales and for me, long may it remain so. But you know, the funny thing is, I've never heard any right thinking Englishman say anything different. On the other hand, I lived and worked in Glasgow for a number of years and became aware of a certain antipathy towards the English - mainly due to a certain M. Thatcher but that's another story.
