Bette Midler's best vocal
Had odd weather here this year. However our roses seem to have loved it. We have had some cracker blooms despite the winds knocking many of them around.
Thanks for viewing and for any cc's posted.
Taken with AP set to f 4.5, Speed 1/60s, ISO 100 using a canon EF-S lens, 10 to 20 mm 1:3.5 - 4.5 USM. Shot hand held.

This is a nice image and it has worked well for you but I wonder why you used such a low ISO. I would have been tempted to use a higher ISO and faster shutter speed. Perhaps my hand is less steady than yours.

WOW! You did it with a RED rose. I am not going to complain about the reflection of light on the leaves in the background. I can appreciate this for the level of difficulty in making a red rose look like a rose. Great shot Ken.

Re: Bette Midler's best vocal
Thank you for feed back gentlemen. Much appreciated. I take your excellent point Andre about the shine on the leaves. Two points here. Firstly I am trying to cut right back on PPing to a minimum and concentrate more on getting better shots. And secondly I totally missed it! LOL
And Tony,I used the AV setting of 4.5 so the shutter speed was the decision of the Camera's brain. I prefer to work with AV settings for still liife shots and go for brokeh rather than set the shutter speed. And I always opt for the lowest ISO possible. Despite what I read to the contrary once I get over an ISO of 200 I seem to discern noise, especially in backgrounds and after significant cropping. But this is probably just a personal experience. But hey, I am just an enthusiastic amateur and no expert. ( 'Ass beats class,' as a friend of mine was wont to say. )
Cheers
Ken
