Very well done, Roger.
I suppose it helps a lot shooting with Canon F2.8 lenses to get that superb buttery background.
No 3 for me, thank you.
These are difficult birds to capture Roger,
Well I find them so; the ones around here often spend 30-50 seconds under water and pop up tens of metres from where the dived for just 5 seconds, that's long enough to spot them, focus, compose - and curse as they disappear again
These are quite the best I have seen; very nice lighting, focus, backgrounds and exposure.
Well done,
Nice series, well done Roger. The iridescence in the feathers shows off nicely.
Excellent images
Stunning! I agree with Dave, the best I have seen. I'm still trying for the perfect Cormorant shot and now I will carry a vision of #2 and #3 in my head, love #1 too!
WOW thanks for the great complement Dave! I got lucky the tide pool was shallow maybe 2 feet deep so you could see his feet flopping around as he was swimming, he had surfaced repeatedly and evidently didn't feel threatened due to he got out to sun on the rock directly in front of me maybe 20 feet away. It was one of those moments where you feel lucky and hope you don't screw it up.
Thanks Christina, the Pelicans are starting to get their red throats and yellow/white heads so some good shots should be coming soon.
Hi, Roger. Very nice set. I love their eyes. By the way, this one seems a little different from the ones we have down here. Cheers,
Great photos. Their sharpness is stunning.
...nice piece of work isn't it, on a 7D coupled with a 1.4 TC gives an effective 672 mm range.I recently purchased the 300mm f/2.8L IS ll USM
Them's nice shots.
Great images. The light, colours, clarity are amazing.
Had to add... It's the first cormorant image that I've seen where one can see the green and purple hues... Amazing!
