    A Day in The Lakes

Set out early on Thursday, picked up a mate and got into Borrowdale just as the sun was coming up.
Couldn't have asked for better weather or a better day out walking.

First stop - looking down onto the South end of Derwent Water from Surprise View.
The colour comes from the sun lighting up the heather on Catbells.

Next up was Watendlath - Got a few shots of the bridge and the tarn.

Then we headed up towards Dock Tarn. Bit boggy and a map might have been handy but we got there and got a few shots along the way.

Plenty more files to work through but I feel these give a good flavour of the day.

Awe inspiring and just plain lovely. Definately a "good flavour of the day". Something to aspire to.

Beautiful! Images 3, 5 and 6 are my favourites. Nice to see how to make a beautiful landscape image out of a rock.

    Thanks
The rock shot was helped by borrowing my mates lens - a fabulous Pentax SMC DA* Series 50-135mm f/2.8 ED IF SDM.
Tempted to save and get myself one.

Beautiful shots of a beautiful area Robin. We stayed in Keswich a few years ago and loved the Derwent Water area. The weather was nothing like yours though. I remember taking a shot of that stone arch bridge.

    Thanks.

It was one of the best days I've had out with a camera in ages.

And it gives you a real buzz when you have such a day ... and the enjoyment is reflected in the quality of the images. It's a bit chicken-and-egg, isn't it? You feel good becuase you know you're capturing good photographs. You make good photographs when you feel good. It's just a great feeling when the interaction works.
